The NIR Credit team is
comprised of professionals with a balanced skill set of
experience that includes portfolio management, investment
banking, capital markets distribution, structuring, modeling
and systems development activities within major financial
institutions. Managing partners Joe Parish and Scott
Shannon have worked together in establishing, building, and
managing structured finance lines of business over a
twenty-two year period at Wachovia Securities and NIR
Credit.
Joseph G. Parish
Mr. Parish is a
Managing Partner and co-founder of NIR Credit with 28 years
experience in structured and corporate finance. Previously,
he served as head of the Asset Securitization Division (ASD)
in the Structured Products Group at Wachovia Securities
(formerly First Union Securities). He established and
developed the firm’s asset-backed product capabilities,
which included securities underwriting and management of
principal finance investments. ASD’s scope of activities
included origination, structuring and investment portfolio
management across all major asset class sectors. Under his
direction and leadership, the division built annual lead
managed underwriting volume to over $15 billion and managed
conduit programs totaling $20 billion.
Scott Shannon
Mr. Shannon is a Managing
Partner and co-founder of NIR Credit with 20 years
experience in corporate and structured finance. Previously,
he spent seventeen years at Wachovia Securities (formerly
First Union Securities), initially in the Financial
Institutions Group, and subsequently in the Asset
Securitization Division where his responsibilities included
the management of all asset-backed origination activities.
He co-founded the bank’s securitization business in 1992,
and was responsible for the growth and development of the
firm’s top-ranked commercial assets platform.
